www.therenegadehealthshow.com – Annmarie nailed it with this recipe… She adapted a regular ceviche dish (with raw fish) and used young Thai coconut to make this raw food ceviche recipe.

Annmarie this has to be the best Mexican raw food dish out there! As a American Mexican I thought I would never find a AUTHENTIC dish. Now I have something my own Mamma would like. Thanks, really love the vids.

I would also really love to know how to make raw corn chips–if its possible. I live in Asia and finding corn chips that are processed is really difficult, let alone, raw corn chips. If I could make them, that would be even better!

ceviche is good but it’s not as good as pussy.

I like the recipe, I just want to caution people that the lime juice will effectively “cook” the food. Citrus juices contain citric acid, which is a weak organic acid. This acid can break down enzymes in many of the other foods. It also explains why the texture changes over time. I’m still sure this is much healthier than traditional Ceviche :-)

Umm i didnt see any fish in this?

A Fish Substitute Suggestion for you two: Thin sliced portabello mushrooms-they should take on the flavor of the cerviche liquid really well and soften just like the coconut!

Could you tell me what that instrument is that you made the coconut/cucumber noodles with?
What are the measurements of the ingredients? Excellent vid!

ddavid993 i didnt see any fish either, a real ceviche needs seafood of any kind

I just wanted to let you know that Mexican Ceviche has different ingredients than Peruvian, Ecuatorian, Panamenian etc… And also the lemon/lime juice cooks the fish, so literally you won’t eat it “raw”.
You can also use Soy to make ceviche, it tastes very good too.
Avocado gives a good flavor to your ceviche, little fattening but it’s good for you too. You do not use “Regular Tortilla” to eat it with, it is called Tostada/Toasted Tortilla/Chips. Also “Saltines” crackers, recomended.

      ceviche is from peru!!!…. yeah!!

    24. vertyvert on July 7th, 2010 6:30 pm

that is not ceviche, its a salad that is loosely inspired by mexican ceviche recipes. it probably tastes good but its not ceviche.
